Tuesday, February
2nd, was a great day for the Devil basketball squads as they swept the Schley County
Wildcats. However, Saturday, February 6th, did not treat the Devils as well. The
basketball squads had one victory out of four games against the Dooly County
Bobcats.
Hawkinsville v. Schley
County
The first game
of the day was played by the Hawkinsville Lady Devils and the Lady Wildcats. The Lady Devils sank the first basket of the game and never
lost the lead. At the end the first quarter, the
Lady Devils were up 14 to 9. The second quarter
ended with Hawkinsville ahead 32 to 13. The score
at the end of the third quarter saw the Lady Devils leading 43 to 22. The final score was Hawkinsville 58, Schley County
31.
The Lady Devils
combined to pull down 49 rebounds, 32 of those being defensive rebounds. Leading rebounders were Ykeshia Baker with 16, and Sharinea
Coley and Jasmine Duhart with 6 apiece. The Lady
Devils gave 11 assists, led by Taquonda Brown with 3 assists. Hawkinsville had 10 steals. The team was led by Taquonda Brown with 3
steals. The Lady Devils blocked 9 shots, led by

The second game
of the day was played by the Hawkinsville Red Devils and the Schley County
Wildcats. Just like the Lady Devils before them,
the Red Devils sank the first basket of the game and never lost the lead. At the end of the first quarter, the Red Devils were up 10
to 4. The second quarter ended with Hawkinsville
ahead 26 to 16. The score at the end of the
third quarter saw the Red Devils leading 43 to 33. The final score was Hawkinsville 64, Schley County
49.
The Red Devils
combined to pull down 42 rebounds, 23 of those being defensive rebounds. Leading rebounders were Alex Andrews with 9, Aaron Black and

of the evening was contested between the Junior Varsity Lady Devils and the JV Lady
Bobcats. The final score was Hawkinsville 33, Dooly
County 24.
The second game
of the evening was contested between the JV Red Devils and the JV Bobcats. The final score was Hawkinsville 38, Dooly County
66.
The third game
of the evening was contested between the Lady Devils and the Lady Bobcats. The first quarter ended with the Lady Devils down 16 to
9. Hawkinsville was trailing 20 to 32 at the end of
the second quarter. At the end of the third quarter
the Lady Devils were down 27 to 53. The final score
was Hawkinsville 36, Dooly County 65.

of the evening was contested between the Red Devils and the Bobcats. The first quarter ended with the Red Devils down 16 to

the Red Devils were down 41 to 54. The final score
was Hawkinsville 60, Dooly County 79.

HHS Game
Schedule
The final
regular season game will be played on Friday, February 12th. The Devils will travel to Ashburn to face the Turner County
Rebels for four games. The JV games are scheduled
to begin at 4:00 p.m. with the two Varsity games scheduled to begin at 7:00
p.m.
